Poptropica Cheats for Skullduggery Island Arg! Quit yer bellyachin' an git back to work on this island! Okay, I'll switch from pirate mode now. The first thing you should do once you land on this island is go all the way right, past the bridge. Hop off the rocks, and then go left under them until you reach the water. Go left, and you'll see a shiny speck just beside the water. Collect it. It's a Doubloon, the currency of choice on the high seas. Go right again to get back. Then hop onto the bridge and go left. Keep going until you reach the general store ('Stinky Tim's'.) Go inside and use the coin you got earlier. You will buy the feed with it (what the..?) This may sound like a terrible trade, but keep going and see how you're wrong. Collect the broken mirror on top of the shelf at the very right (click on it.) Exit the store and go left until you see the man with the chickens. Talk to him and he will tell you that he is very poor, and he can't even afford to feed his animals. Give him the feed. He will be very grateful, and he will give you one of his chickens as a reward. I know, lots of weird items on this island. Take this and head back across the bridge. | A video playthrough of how to get your first ship, how to get the map pieces, and how to trade. I made a mistake here: you have to get a loan at Golden Harbor to get the Jimmy Rigger by talking to the lady on the top floor of the bank (take the highest possible loan) |
Sailing To set sail, click 'EMBARK' on a part of your ship. It is in different places every time. On the raft, it is inside the tent. You will have a map of islands in the top right. Sail by moving your mouse; but first you will have to take your anchor out of the water! Do this by pressing the spacebar. When you have a more advanced ship, you can click to fire your cannons. You don't need to put out the anchor every time you dock because it happens automatically. Avoid sailing hazards such as:

Trading
In this island, the goal is to sail around the five islands, trading to earn more money and to buy better ships. Each island is about a day's journey apart. Then, finally, attack the notorious Captain Crawfish to bring peace to Fort Ridley. I have found an easy way to do this; just go through the islands in this order:- Bouffant Bay
- Parrot Port
- Golden Harbor
- Pirate Outpost
- Dragon Cove

Loans & Interest
Poptropica Skullduggery Trading Chart
Math nerd that I am, I decided to take a closer look at how the loans in Skullduggery work. (Feel free to skip this section if math bores you). You decide on the loan amount and get that amount of cash immediately -- but you have to give that money back to the bank eventually, plus interest. For every day that you don't play the money back (up to 20 days in Skullduggery), you have to pay 5% more. So the debt every day is 105% of yesterday's, a.k.a. 1.05 times yesterday's amount. The Map Pieces
One of the most important parts of Skullduggery Island... collecting the map pieces from the various islands! On Bouffant Bay and Parrot Port, this is pretty simple to do, but it quickly gets much harder! The only exception is Dragon Cove... it's easier to get it there. Once you have all the map pieces, they will join together and create a hidden island... Skullduggery! But beware... this area is heavily guarded by pirates, and most importantly, Captain Crawfish! You only need to get the map pieces the first time you come to the island. Here's how to find all of them:- Bouffant Bay The first thing you should do after arriving here is to hop up onto the platform above you with the man with the rifle. Go to the left, and then pull the lever there to unlock the winch. Get onto the platform, slide down, then talk to the guy there (but wait until it goes down all the way!) He will tell you his wife can give you a clue. Go right and talk to the pirate. He'll tell you he can't find 312 Hanging Fern Way. Of course he can't! There's no such place. But remember this number: 3-1-2. For now, just go right and hop onto the barrel near the Trading Post. Then get onto the lamppost. From there, jump onto the sign, and then onto the balcony of the next building. Talk to the lady there (she's the guy's wife!), and she'll give you a clue. Hop off the balcony and under the three hanging ferns. Then hit the third (3) one, the first (1) one, then the second (2) one. Ta da! The map piece flutters to the ground.
- Parrot Port Go into Petey's Pirate Pub and jump on top of the barrels to the left. Then jump to the right and onto the platform. Hop onto the next platform to the right and collect the crackers. Then get outside and go to the left. When you reach the parrot on the barrel just left of the Trading Post, click on him. He'll tell you to jump in the sea before looking for him, and you're going to do just that! After you're out of the sea, jump on top of the Trading Post sign. Then jump up. Talk to him. Following the parrot's directions, jump onto the roof. Go to the right, then jump onto the next rooftop. Clog the vent by jumping on it. Then hop off and go to the right of the roof. Jump onto the tree (you can't reach this spot from the ground.) Talk to the parrot. Whoo! This sure is taking long! But you'll be rewarded soon... Jump off and go to the left of the island (stopping about where the dock begins.) Jump onto the platform, then onto the bigger one. Climb up the tower (jumping onto the crates first), and talk to the pirate. The use the crackers. The parrot will come flying. Speak to the pirate, and he'll give you the map piece as a reward.
- Golden Harbor You'll notice that there are five lamps scattered throughout the island, and that you can light these by clicking on them. Sometimes, lighting one can turn another one off. Go to the draped archway to the left of the bank. The symbols above it will tell you which lamps to light. But you need to light them in backwards order, otherwise they will not all stay lit. You'll need to activate the fourth one, the second one, and then the first one. The fourth one corresponds to the one to the left of the bank. Then go left until you reach the red awning near the trading post. Jump onto it, and it will launch you up to the next ledge. Then turn on the light. Jump off, and go to the left until you reach the first one, near the lady in purple. When you turn this one on, you'll see the parchment appear in the archway. Go over there and grab it.
There's another order you can do it in: one, four, two. But I decided my way was easier. - Pirate Outpost Once you arrive, keep going left, past the skull, through the water, and finally on the mini island. Jump up to the highest platform, then jump onto the winch to the right. Jump off of it and onto the grassy platform with the guy in orange. Go right, past the head of the skull, and onto the tilted platform (make sure to jump over the gap!) Then jump onto the cannon, and next to the left. Get a little under the building, then jump up. You are now outside Corsair Cannonry. Jump onto the roof of the building, then climb to the leftmost roof area. Jump off, and go straight down when you spot the skull-and-crossbones flag. You'll collect the Cannon Starter Kit. Then go back to Corsair Cannonry and go left, then jump to the small platform. Push the barrel of explosives (yikes!) off the platform, then go down with it. Push it off another time, and jump off again. It'll land in the water. Jump to the left of the barrel, then push it directly under the golden tooth of the huge skull. Then go back to the tiny island. Launch the cannon closest to the ground, and it'll hit the explosives. BOOM! It explodes and shakes the tooth loose and... what's that? It must be the fourth map piece! Go over and collect it by first jumping up near the left of the skull, and then jumping to get it. This needs to be done because you can't jump as high in the water.
- Dragon Cove Go right, and into the water. Jump across the barrels and onto the statue. The tail will pop up. Jump off and collect the mallet. Swim right and onto the platform. Then jump again and talk to the guy fishing. He's having a tough time finding fish. Help him by pushing the crate he's on until it just touches the barrel. Then use the mallet. The fish will jump up and he'll catch one. Then you'll get the map piece from the mouth of the fish.
Purchasing Ships
This is one of the most exciting parts of this island: how does the new ship look like? How does it work? You can purchase ships by going inside the room beside the trading post in Dragon Cove. Talk to the guy and he'll show you which ships you can buy and how much they cost. Well, I have it right here, too... (dbs = short for Doubloons)- Jimmy Rigger The first ship you buy.

Hiring People
As they said in the intro, hiring people is well worth the price! These can come in very helpful. I've compiled a list of your possible crewmen, where you can find them, what they do, and their price (dbs = short for Doubloons.) Usually, when you get the Sea Sultan ship, you can go around hiring everybody! And I mean it. You can do this because by the time you get to the Sea Sultan, you have so much cargo space that $67,000 dbs is like chicken feed! After you have this ship, be sure to hire people the moment you have the chance! This may cost you one extra run around the islands, though...- Cabin Boy (default)
- Cook (default)
- Cargo Master In Bouffant Bay, Willard's Warehouse; Price $15,000 dbs
Increases your cargo capacity by 50% (ex: 20 cargo -> 30, just do cargo multiplied by 1.5). - Navigator In Parrot Port, Petey's Pirate Pub; Price $12,000 dbs)
Increases your ship's speed. - Cannoneer In Pirate Outpost, Corsair Cannonry*; Price: $20,000 dbs
Reloads your cannons twice as fast as before. - Shipwright In Dragon Cove, Shipbuilder's Workshop; Price: $20,000 dbs
Repairs a ship without having to dock it (slowly, though).
Attacking Captain Crawfish Captain Crawfish is the toughest pirate in the sea! You can find him near the hidden, new island you discover after getting all the map pieces (Skullduggery.) It's in the bottom-right corner. He has the same amount of life as the Phoenix Warbird, and has auto-repair so you have to keep attacking him. It is recommended that you attack him when you have the Phoenix Warbird with all of the hired people, but it is also possible to beat him with the Steaming Fury. Out of five suggestions, I've chosen three quick and effective ones for my walkthrough. And here they are... | How the Creators made the mighty Phoenix Warbird! |
Poptropica Skullduggery Cheats
- Recommended This one is a little strange, but it's the one that works the best. When you spot Captain Crawfish, fire at him until at least one-fifth of his life is gone. Then kind of get away, and then make a full circle and crash into him head-on. Both ships will start losing life rapidly. This works, but you should also keep shooting at him non-stop to speed up the process an make it easier on you.
- Get in front of Captain Crawfish's ship, and sail in circles with him behind you. Both ships are more comfortable firing to the back of the ship (this doesn't apply to you if you're fighting him with the Steaming Fury.) This way, you have a shooting advantage because he is behind you, but he will have more trouble with this. This is when the cannon shooter you hire in Pirate Outpost comes in handy (if you have him, it's wiser to stay more ahead of Captain Crawfish than you usually would.) If you do this a little north-east of Skullduggery, and keep firing repeatedly, you'll sink him in no time!
- This one's not as effective as the first two, so I won't document it fully. It's fairly simple; all you do is lure Captain Crawfish to a little north of Skullduggery, then pitch anchor. Since you're not moving, Captain Crawfish will have no choice but to circle around you. Then, you can fire away! I don't suggest this, though, because it's caused by a glitch, and I wouldn't rely on that...
Retrieving the Treasure
Poptropica Skullduggery Island Walkthrough
Everyone is really excited about Skullduggery Island, which is a brand-new quest on Poptropica. It’s been out for a while for paid members only and it’s really the biggest and hardest Poptropica island released so far. It takes a lot longer to play than most of the other island quests and it involves doing a lot of different things. Most earlier adventures were pretty simple because you just needed to follow a simple set of steps. Skullduggery Island is much more complicated and you need to do things like trade cargo to earn doubloons to earn money and get bigger ships and hire a crew.
The island sort of works in two different parts. The first part is more like the earlier Poptropica adventures and it takes place on the first island on which you arrive, called Fort Ridley. There is a short quest where you have to help the villagers on the island and figure out the mystery of an incomplete note that the governor of Fort Ridley has. It helps to explain a lost treasure. The island of Fort Ridley needs that treasure because all their money has been stolen by the terrible pirate, Captain Crawfish.
Part Two is where you travel many different islands to trade cargo and to uncover five pieces of a missing treasure map. Once you get the map, you will reveal the hidden Skullduggery Island. Once you have enough money from trading, you can outfit a warship and take on Captain Crawfish. Once you defeat him, the Governor of Fort Ridley will give you a special shovel to dig up the treasure and save the island. Here is the step-by-step walkthrough for the whole island.
Part One: Fort Ridley Walkthrough
When you arrive by balloon, you’ll be in Fort Ridley, which is where the first part of Skullduggery Island takes place. During this beginning part of the island, your goal is to find several items to help the villagers and solve the mystery of the strange note. When you have solved the secret of the strange note and aided the people of Fort Ridley, you can leave this main island and check out quite a few more on the high seas.
- To begin, travel through the first place and dash across the bridge into the next area. On the far side, climb down into the stream and go left to get the Doubloon from the sand.
- Return over the bridge towards the Main Street area and after that walk into the General Store where you will see a woman inside. Click on the doubloon in your backpack and make use of it to purchase a bag of chicken feed.
- Following that go outside the store and proceed to the chap with the chickens. Give him the bag of feed you just got. He will give you a chicken.
- Take the chicken to the next area to the right and give it to the guy who is growing corn. The chicken will eat the pests and the guy will give you a blue candle as a gift.
- Go far right past the Governor’s house, to the sea edge and talk to the woman there whose husband is lost at sea.
- Enter the Governor’s house and use the Blue Candle to reveal the missing writing on the Parchment. The Goverrnor will explain the story of the lost Treasure Map and will ask you to find the pieces and defeat the terrible pirate, Captain Crawfish.
- Walk outside the house and then go all the way back to where you started the quest. There is a fort here. Climb to the top of the tower and use the telescope. You’ll see a very small raft. Use the broken mirror to signal the raft which will sail into the pier.
- A man will walk out onto the pier to meet you. He is the husband of the woman you talked to near the ocean. He gives you his ship, which is now crewed by a cabin boy and the old sailor from the fort.
Part Two: Get the Treasure Map and Earn Lots of Doubloons
Now the longer part of Skullduggery Island begins. You’ll be doing a lot of sailing and exploring of the different islands on the map while you search for the different treasure map pieces and try to earn enough doubloons through trading to hire your crew and buy a warship to defeat Captain Crawfish.
- Once you are on board your ship, raise anchor and sail to Dragon Cove, up and to the left of Fort Ridley. As you move from place to place in your boat, try to stay far away from sea creatures, pirate ships, and thunder clouds because they will all damage your ship. If you see salvage floating in the water, try to get it for extra doubloons and goods.
- You’ll soon arrive at Dragon Cove. Click on the dock and disembark. To find the map piece, go to the water’s edge and stand on the sunken statue to reveal a Mallet. Push the old fisherman all the way to the right, and hit the giant Bell Gong with the mallet. The sound of the gong will make the fish jump out of the water and onto the fisherman’s hook. He will give you a piece of the map which he found in the fish’s mouth. Dragon Cove is the home of the shipbuilder and is where you can purchase upgraded ships which carry more cargo and have more guns. It’s also where you’ll find the shipwright, who can repair your ship while in battle. But you probably don’t have enough doubloons yet, so skip them for now. New ships and the crewmembers are pretty expensive and you’ll need to do a lot of trading between the islands before you can start upgrading. While you’re here on Dragon Cove, visit the trading post and buy as much Silk as you can.
- The next stop is Bouffant Bay, which is in the top-right corner. Pick up any salvage you spot along the way.
- The guy here once you arrive on the boat dock offers you a small clue about the hidden map piece on this island. Run to the right and you will arrive at the trading post. Here you want to sell Silk. Here, it is Medicine that is cheaply purchased. Now we’re off to find the map piece. First, walk to the right until you arrive at a house with the hanging baskets. Jump up into the 3rd, then the 1st, then the 2nd middle one. Once that is done, you’ll find the hidden map piece. In the nearby Willard’s Warehouse is the Cargo Master, who can increase your cargo space for any ship by 50%. He is also not affordable at the start. Don’t forget to make sure you bought the Medicine cargo from the trading post because you’ll want to sell it at the next port.
- Travel to Parrot Port, directly below. When you arrive, go to the Trading Post and sell all your cargo. Don’t purchase anything here because everything is too expensive. Head inside Petey’s Pirate Pub and you’ll find the Navigator. When you hire her she increases the speed of your ship, but if this is your first trip around the islands, she’s too expensive to hire for now. Get the cracker that you’ll locate upstairs on the left inside the pub. Go back to the Trading Post and locate the Parrot. The parrot is kind of weird and tells you to jump into the sea and then to come back and try to find it. Run out to the dock and jump in the water and then go back and you’ll find him up near the roof of one of the buildings. Click on him and he’ll tell you to clog the vent and see where he went. He’s talking about a chimney on the building to the right, which you need to stand on. You can find the parrot in the palm tree over to the right. He tells you to go to the old tower and find a pirate that he knows. Go to the old tower near the dock and you’ll find the pirate up top. He’ll tell you that if you can return the parrot to him he will give you a reward. Use the cracker you got from the pub to get the parrot to fly to the tower and then the pirate will give you the missing map piece.
- The next stop is Golden Harbor, which is the island in the lower-right corner of the map. It’s surrounded by treacherous rocks so be careful when you go and pick up any salvage you can along the way. When you go inside the bank, you can borrow doubloons which let you buy more cargo for trading and earn money quickly. You can obtain a loan of doubloons from the back that costs 5% interest each day days go by each time you sail to a new port and you have to repay the loan within 20 days. To get the map piece here, you have to light three of the five street lights, some of which go out when others are turned on. The specific order is to get the lantern on the far right first the fifth lantern. Then get the third lantern, followed by the fourth one. Finally, get the second and then finally the first lantern far left. The map piece will then fall down from the archway. We’re almost ready to sail on but before you go, visit the trading post and purchase as much grain as you can.
- The next stop is the Pirate Outpost, a remote island located to the West. Find the trading post. Then sell all of your grain at a profit and buy as much spice as you possibly can. Climb up the giant skull, jumping over hostile pirates. In the cannon shack is the Cannoneer, who you may wish to hire later. At the top of the mast is a “cannon starter kit” fuses, which will fire any of the four cannons on the outpost. Jump down and to the left and you’ll see a barrel of explosives. Push it down so that it falls into the water below. Leap off the platform and land next to the barrel in the water below. Push the barrel to the right and place it directly underneath the gold tooth in the big skull statue. Run back to the left and click on the cannon to fire it. The cannonball will hit the barrel of explosives, which will blow up. The explosion will shake the gold tooth and the hidden map piece will fall out.
- Next, start following a trade route by returning to Dragon Cove to sell your spice. Keep going in this circular clockwise direction from port to port to build your profits so that you can purchase bigger ships and hire more crew. You can use any trading routes you want, but this basic circle will get you profits faster than any other way. There are no shortcuts, but your progress is much faster as you increase your ship size and speed.
- After a while, you’ll have enough money to purchase the biggest ship, the Phoenix Warbird. You’ll need this ship and a full crew to defeat Captain Crawfish. Sail to battle him off Skullduggery Island. Once you defeat Captain Crawfish in battle, sail back to Fort Ridley. When you arrive, go back to the house with the Governor inside. The governor will reveal the exact location of the buried treasue on Skullduggery Island and will give you a special shovel you need to dig it up.
- Get back on your ship and sail to Skullduggery Island. Dock there and then go to the hill with the flag. Then walk six paces to the right, and use the bone shovel to dig up the treasure. After you dig up the treasure, Captain Crawfish and his dastardly pirate crew surprise you. With them is the Governor’s aide who was working for Crawfish the whole time.
Finishing the Island
Unlike the majority of other Poptropica islands, there is no big boss fight here at the end. Your crew sails in to save the day, and you return the treasure to Fort Ridley, where the Governor awards you the Island Medallion!
